April 3, 2012
Congratulations to our nation’s youngest heroes … this month marks the 26th Anniversary our nation celebrates military kids during The Month of the Military Child. All across the country and overseas, communities both on base and off provide special programs, events, activities and resources for military children and their parents.
Maryland's Operation: Military Kids! will Purple Up on April 13th to celebrate our Military Kids. Start the trend on your base, at your kids' schools or in your city by wearing purple to show support and honor Military Kids all over the world! Why purple? Because when you combine all the colors of all the military branches, you get purple ... Army green, Navy, Coast Guard and Air Force blues, and Marine Red.
During the month of April take advantage of all that is out there for you as a parent and for your little hero. And by all means, don’t forget to check in with your local MWR and ITT office on base. You won’t want to miss out on any of the special festivals, sport events, concerts and free goodies being offered for your military child.
Congratulations to Operation Homefront's 2012 Military Child of the Year Award recipients:
