What do you like about living where you do?

NASWI has a wonderful community! It's a very small Navy town. Everyone is so friendly and supportive! My husband was gone on deployment a lot, but I had a Navy family, away from family, that was truly amazing! The scenery is absolutely stunning, too! You're right next to the Pacific Ocean and you have mountains all around you as well. It's breathtaking!

What challenges are associated with living there?

Our family is originally from New Jersey, so for us... it's really far from home. My husband deployed often, so I was left behind a lot, with no family. Although, I did make my own "family."

Anything else you'd like to add?

Whidbey Island and my Navy family were so amazing! The town was quaint, beautiful, and very friendly. The base had lots of things to do. Housing was very nice and the yards had fences, which was a huge plus! The whole town was very military oriented. They had a beautiful, newly renovated exchange. I loved the feeling I felt while living there. It was so far from home, yet felt so homey to me!
