Happy Fourth of July! I hope your weekend is full of celebrations, barbecues and family and a whole lot of fireworks and sparklers.
I am so proud to announce that Adm. Michelle J. Howard has become the first Navy four-star admiral. She is the third female service member to reach the four star status. The first female four-star general was Army General Ann Dunwoody who received her fourth star on June 23, 2008. Air Force General Janet C. Wolfenbarger received her fourth star on June 5, 2012. These women are changing the climate of the military and I am so proud of what they have accomplished.
I was so lucky to participate in V-WISE last month. It is a program for active duty, veteran and military spouses who have plans to start a business. I won't give you all the details of this program, but please check out a couple of the programs available to you and your spouses in my article about the Institute of Veterans and Military Families.
