What you may have noticed already
October has arrived and with a bang or maybe better explained as a thud. Instead of basking in cooler temperatures, searching out the best parks for the kids to play and reveling in the last month before the holiday hoopla, many of us are facing the consequences of the current government shut down. Although military pay has continued, I am sure you've noticed that conveniences and services that you used to take for granted are no longer available. The nation’s commissaries are shut down, although, the commissaries overseas are operating. Many military treatment facilities (MTFs) are also on reduced manpower, so appointments may take longer and hours may be reduced. Finally, if the government remains closed, the October 15 payday maybe delayed as there aren't enough payroll employees to keep up with the current payroll needs.
