What do you like about living where you do?
There is so much to do in the DMV (Delaware-Maryland-Virginia) area! From museums and sight-seeing in Washington D.C. to beautiful downtown Annapolis with its delicious restaurants (Iron Rooster is a MUST!), there's always something to do or see. Baltimore has the Ravens and Orioles, so sports lovers are covered. Camden Yards is a personal favorite of mine, but I may be biased since I'm a die-hard O's fan. Don't forget to grab a dirty-Boh if you're over 21, a Natty Boh beer with a rim covered in Old Bay - it's a Maryland classic along with some delicious crabs and crab cakes. While you're in Baltimore, you can also take the kids to the Inner Harbor to see the ships and The National Aquarium, which is a favorite place for my kids. If your kids enjoy animals, there is the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore and the National Zoo in D.C. During the winter you can find ski slopes within a couple of hours, and in the summer you can head to the eastern shore for the beach!

I really love the weather that you get with Maryland because you truly experience each season. We got hit with a huge snowstorm last year, but they are really great with keeping the roads clear. Spring is great and the summers are hot but not insanely humid. Fall is my favorite and Maryland sure has a beautiful fall. Cool, crisp air with gorgeous foliage. A lot of military families live on Fort Meade and although I don't live there, I have friends who do and they really enjoy it. The housing is nice, neighbors seem friendly and there are a lot of activities held on base. There are excellent medical centers in the area such as Johns Hopkins and many others! All in all, my family loves this area. We've been here for almost six years and still haven't run out of fun things to do yet!

What challenges are associated with living there?
The area does have a high cost of living compared to a lot of other areas.
