We are a fun, outgoing, quirky family of six (including our three fur babies). My spouse is in the Army and has been proudly serving our country for almost 15 years. We are very proud of him for the sacrifices he's made for this beautiful nation and proud of our family for all we do as well. We are the proud parents of a bright, full-of-life 2-year-old daughter who is the light of our lives.

What do you like about military life?
I love how close our extended military family is. The sense of community and camaraderie is astounding.

What do you not like so much?
Deployments. They never get any easier!

Do you have special talents/hobbies? How do you spend your time?
I enjoy spending quality time with our family. You learn to appreciate what time you have in this lifestyle. I keep busy with my military moms facebook group and playdates with my daughter. I enjoy dancing, reading, writing, family road trips, being around friends, and have taken up a love for DIY arts and crafts.

What's the most rewarding part of your life? The most challenging?
Most rewarding - being a mother. I was born again. It's literally the best life on the planet. Most challenging - the unknown. Things in the military are always changing. It's hard to make plans sometimes due to this. One minute your loved one is scheduled home for the holidays, the next they are shipping out. You just never know.

How has being part of a military family shaped you?
It makes me stronger and more independent in ways I wouldn't have imagined before.

What has surprised you about military life? Or life since you left the military?
Just the love and dedication so many service members have for our country. What they're willing to do and have done for so many of us and our freedom.

What advice or encouragement can you share?
Beside (not behind) every soldier, there is an even stronger family who stands beside them, supports them, and loves them with all their heart. When you've got that, you can get through anything.
