Blue Star Museums

June 3, 2016
Summers are filled with swimming pools and lazy days, but it's also a great time of year to get out and explore. Finding a great museum to visit is always on our summer bucket list. The Blue Star Museum program makes this an affordable option, too.

Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families from Memorial Day (May 30) through Labor Day (September 5).

The Details:

Find the list of participating Blue Star Museums at arts.gov/bluestarmuseums. These include children's museums, fine art museums, history and science museums, and nature centers.

Up to five family members can visit with the active duty member. Family members may include a spouse, child, aunts, grandparents, uncles, etc.

If your spouse is deployed, you can still participate in this program by showing your military ID card.

There is no limit on the number of museums you can visit during this program.
